In a pot put water, garlic, and parsley and bring to a boil.

When the water boils add hard bread (even if several weeks old), continue to boil until the water is almost evaporated.

Add salt, drizzle with olive oil, and (if in season) add fresh tomatoes.

VARIANT: someone even suggested the use of moldy bread: no one would have noticed. The green mold would have been confused for parsley, but then penicillin, in case of infection, is the recommended medication. |
