This document going back to 1861 is really interesting. It is interesting above all because in the upper left corner of its first page can be seen the seal of the Kingdom of The Two Sicilies (canceled) and the seal of the newly created Kingdom of Italy. The document deals with the sale of a parcel of land in Fallo (Capo la Selva) and bears the signature of the seller and of the witnesses declared "illiterate" by the author. It seems that the contract was written by the seller himself who, even though at times tries to appear as an educated person, makes often spelling and grammatical errors. To better appreciate the content of the document the original text has been reproduced with the opportunity to view details of its content. Another view shows in details the two seals (that of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and that of the Kingdom of Italy) in the first page of the sale contract. |
