How is well known, Fallo is the homeland of the De Lollis family, in which born the famous philologist Cesare De Lollis and, a country street, is dedicated to the writer and patriot Alceste De Lollis.
The history of this family is partly recovered by the content of these two documents. The first regards the birth of Alceste Tito De Lollis (born in Fallo on February 28th, 1820 from Don Nicola De Lollis and Maria De Lollis), while the second concerns the birth of Giulio Cesare De Lollis, son of the same Alceste Tito and Filomena Colalongo (of Casalincontrada). In this last country is also present the statue in marble of Giulio Cesare De Lollis.
The first document, despite not of good quality and creating some interpretation problem, give anyway a track of the origin of the family of Alceste Tito: the father was "Medico Cerusico" (doctor, surgeon), enviable profession for those times.
The second document, apart from testify the birth of Giulio Cesare De Lollis, also shows that the father of this, had married Filomena Colalongo of Casalincontrada. The copy "in text format" opportunely writed to better appreciate the documents is consultable selecting the appropriate miniature. We advise to read them: they are a testimony of the life of those times. |
