THE PICTURES CONTAINED IN THIS PAGE ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTING BECAUSE THEY REPRESENT SOME FUNDAMENTAL MOMENTS IN THE LIFE OF OUR TOWN.
THE FIRST PICTURE OF THE SERIES WAS TAKEN IN 1927 FOR THE OCCASION OF THE COMING OF ELECTRICITY IN THE TOWN: IT IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL PICTURE THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.
MANY HYPOTHESES HAVE RISEN, HOWEVER, CONCERNING THE OTHER PICTURES. THE MOST PREVALENT THESIS IS THE ONE THAT TAKES THE PICTURES BACK TO THE TIME OF THE INAUGURATION OF THE MONUMENT TO THE FALLEN IN THE 1915-1918 WAR: OREOVER, THE PRESENCE IN FALLO OF THE UPPER ADMINISTRATION REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TIME , LEAD TO THE SUPPOSITION THAT THIS WAS A REAL EXCEPTIONAL EVENT. THIS WAS DURING THE FASCIST REGIME, AND SOME OF THE PICTURES SHOW IN THE FOREGROUND, BESIDES THE MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT, EVEN THE LEADERS PRESUMABLY COMING FROM THE PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION.
CONSIDERING THE PERIOD, SOME OF THE PICTURES ARE OF EXCELLENT QUALITY. THESE PICTURES HAVE BEEN SENT TO US FROM THE UNITED STATES.
OUR GREATEST APPRECIATION GOES TO THE PERSON WHO SENT THEM TO US. |
