A COFFEEPOT

One day, speaking with a woman of Fallo I told her that I was interested in objects to be published in this section, and she told me that she had an old coffeepot ("na cafittere") that could be of interest to me.

I imagined that she would come with an old Neapolitan coffeepot, of the type that you would turn upside down once the water had reached a boil, instead she showed me this object that is nothing but a metallic bottle.

Originally it was probably used to pour coffee, which had been prepared in the classical manner, but as it was later explained to me, it was used to make coffee.

In fact, it seems that this type of coffeepot, for lack of the more convenient Neapolitan coffeepot, was used even to boil barley grains or real coffee grains.

In times when everything was scarce, if anyone had the luck of having coffee, it didn't really matter whether it was boiled in something that was not a real coffeepot.
