CORPUS DOMINI 2004 The procession flows down towards
the main road.
Very ancient is also the use
of the canopy, under where the mystical bread and the priest shelter.
In 1263, in fact, when Urban
Pope IV extended the celebration of Corpus Domini to all the Christendom,
such anniversary came since then solemnized with a majestic procession
during which the canopy to were used to protect the "Corpus Domini" from any bad weather or from an excessive sun. |
