CORPUS DOMINI 2004 Every year, sixty days after
the Easter, the church celebrates the "Corpus Domini", religious feast
in honour of the Eucaristia (the "body" of Christ under the sacramental
sign of the bread).
Celebrated the mass, the Eucharistic
Bread is take for the streets of the country followed by a procession
of faithfuls. According to an ancient tradition (born in Florence at
the beginnings of the 1500 for decision of the Medicean Grand Dukes
and then spread it in all Italy) quilts and embroidered fabrics are
hang out by balconies and by windows to beautify the procession way.
Once, long ago, the families
of Fallo were measuring themselves in a true and real "competition" to show off the most precious and multicoloured fabrics. At the childrens
were given the honour to disseminate the way with petals of flowers
on which was passing the procession. |
