THE KEG

A particular and rather rare object, this is a miniature version of the barrels existing in Fallo's cellars, and used primarily to transport water on packing donkeys or mules.

The one shown in the picture has the capacity of one liter, but there were others of different dimensions and equally suitable for transportation.

Like the "Trùfele" (see description in the Objects section), "Lu Variluotte" was used by the farmers to carry drinking water to the fields.

"Lu Variluotte" compared to the "Trùfele" had the advantage of being stronger and less cumbersome even if its capacity was limited. This was not always a disadvantage because its content was of superior quality (wine instead of water).

It is for this reason that farmers preferred "Lu Variluotte" to "Lu Trùfele".
