This soldier, belonging to the family Mariano, was the brother of a maybe more well-known Pietro whose "alpine enterprises" today are still remembered by the inhabitants of Fallo. In the letter that accompany this photo, sent from United States, a specific reference has been done about some years of imprisonment at which the soldier had been submitted in the first worldwide conflict (1915-1918). The simplicity of the uniform which wears makes us suppose that in the moment in which it has been represented he was at the beginnings of his military career: probably, after the detention, he will certainly have been decorated.
